Through CRS Rice Bowl, Catholic Relief Service’s annual Lenten program of prayer, fasting, learning, and giving, U.S. Catholics fund projects that alleviate hunger and poverty around the world. 

25% of CRS Rice Bowl donations remain in Central Washington to support projects that work to alleviate hunger and poverty in our region.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Yakima seeks applications for grants of up to $1,000 to support work in the diocese’s seven Central Washington counties that directly addresses hunger and poverty, including, but not limited to: 

Community food banks and/or meal sites

Community or parish gardens that grow fresh produce for low-income people

Projects that increase access to healthy food for low-income people

To apply for a grant, follow the attached guidelines and submit your application by Tuesday, May 1. Grant recipients will be announced in June.
