We envision a Church that honors the sacredness and interdependence of individuals and cultural groups while integrating the gifts each brings in manifesting the body of Christ in the Diocese of Yakima. 

Our Work

 The Multicultural Ministries works to strengthen Hispanic ministry, Native American ministry and ministry to other cultural groups present in our Catholic communities; promotes cultural awareness building for all Catholics through training and education, and provides opportunities for cross-cultural relationship building at parish, deanery and diocesan levels.

The Hispanic population in Washington is approximately 790,000.

The median age of Hispanics in Washington is 23 years old.

The Native American population in Washington is approximately 103,869

There are at least 29 Native American tribes that are native to land in Washington.

The Asian population in Washington is approximately 481,067

Trabajamos hacia una iglesia que honra la santidad y la interdependencia de individuos y grupos culturales integrando los dones cada uno hace entrar en la manifestación del cuerpo de Cristo en la Diócesis de Yakima. 

Nuestro trabajo

Los Ministerios Culturales trabajan para fortalecer el ministerio Hispano, el ministerio Nativo Americano y ministerios de otros grupos culturales presentes en nuestras comunidades Católicas; promueve la concientización y edificación cultural para todos los Católicos a través de entrenamiento y educación, y provee oportunidades de edificación entre culturas, parroquias, decanatos y a niveles diocesanos.
