The Social Justice/Respect Life Office is responsible to plan, organize and implement activities that promote peace and justice and address the issues of poverty, housing, agricultural issues, healthcare, immigration, communication between cultures and issues of Hispanic and Native peoples. This office also works to promote the respect and protection of human life at all its stages from conception to natural death. The office coordinates the Catholic Advocacy Network (CAN) under the guidance of the Washington State Catholic Conference (WSCC).

It also networks with various organizations that address the many peace and justice issues in our diocese. In addition, this office is a liaison for the bishop to the Washington Association of Churches, Natural Family Planning and Project Rachel ministries and committees. Educational presentations, materials, and referrals are provided for parishes upon request.
