Objective:
Unite and coordinate efforts within a Pastoral de Conjunto (Collaborative Pastoral Model), seeking the integration and participation of the Hispanic Community in the life of the Church and Society in Central Washington.
Pastoral de Conjunto:
In order to unite pastoral efforts, a Hispanic Pastoral Team has been formed to work in collaboration with the Bishop, the priests, and parish and diocesan leaders. The team is made up of directors and coordinators of the following Diocesan Ministries and Movements: Hispanic Ministry, Youth Ministry, Respect Life and Social Justice, Family Life, Catechesis, Housing Services, Jail Ministry, Charismatic Movement and Cursillo Movement.

Formation:
The Magnificat Institute for Ministry Formation provides formation for lay youth and adults and deacon aspirants through a 3-year certification program of study and personal and spiritual growth.

Resources:
The Diocesan Library, with books and videos in Spanish, is open to the public. Each year we give out copies of the Bible donated by the Catholic Extension Society.

Media:
WE are currently transmitting three radio programs: “A Minute with God,” a daily reflection at midday; “The Word of God for Today’s World,” a brief reflection on the Gospel every Sunday; and “A dialogue with Bishop Sevilla,” a bimonthly program on current topics. These programs are transmitted by Radio Cadena (KNDA, Granger) and La Nueva (KWLN, Wenatchee).

Community Development:
The Diocese of Yakima participates through intercommunication with civil organizations and social service agencies focused on issues of education, health, culture and community development that affect the Hispanic community.
