Dear Fathers:

"Fortnight for Freedom" was launched last year by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as a way to highlight the importance of our first and most cherished freedom that we enjoy as American citizens:  Freedom of Religion.

All three metropolitan areas –   Wenatchee, Yakima and the Tri-Cities –  had opportunities for parishioners to engage and be part of this nation-wide effort.

Below you will find a link to a number of resource materials in both Spanish and English that you can pull down and reproduce for your local parish efforts.  Consider passing these materials onto one of your parish leaders who might take the lead in coordinating your efforts.

More resources are available at the USCCB Fortnight For Freedom website.

Kindly remember too that this is not a partisan event, so avoid providing officials in public life a platform for their individual views.  Certainly no comments should be made against individuals but rather comments should be in favor of everyone uplifting religious liberty.  That means this should be a parish-led event and not co-sponsored by other organizations with partisan agendas.  Everyone is welcome to come, but parishioners should be public and in the lead.

Like last year, send us digital pictures that we can post on Facebook and our diocesan web page.

Thanks for your consideration of this event.
