Weekend Mass Counts Set for October 13-14

Dear Fathers,

Many thanks to all the parishes which took part in our March Mass counts.  Following the recommendation of the Executive Committee of the Council of Priests to Bishop Tyson, our second Mass count is due to be taken up in all the parishes of the Diocese the second weekend of October.  This will help us to better understand the trends of Mass attendance throughout the Diocese and assist us in better serving our people.  We are hoping for 100 percent participation this time, on the weekend scheduled.

Please ask your ushers, or other trusted parishioners, to conduct this count at the Saturday Vigil Masses and Sunday Masses next weekend, March 13-14.  Be sure to include children in your count, and note the language in which the Mass was celebrated.  Use the accompanying form to record the numbers, then return the forms to me by Friday, October 19, so that a report can be prepared in time for the October 30 meeting of the Executive Committee.

Many thanks,

Msgr. Robert Siler
